I am temporarily living in my friend David’s basement until things get figured out with the apartment. My dad can walk, breath and pee on his own now. He’s eating solid foods and is talking again. If life was not stressful enough a huge snowstorm just happened. I had to take out the trash at the old house today and also had to walk to work. Both of which sucked and I ended up being an hour late for work. My manager said it was fine though. Work was extremely slow today. We are still out of ICEEs, most drinks, and now almost out of popcorn. Because of all of the stress in my life right now I’m not going to ask Kellie out. I are lunch and dinner tonight. Unfortunately I have a headache but everyone else is sleeping. I’m just going to try drinking water and laying down
My dad is up walking and talking again. Got to meet my cousin’s 6 day old son. Such a cutie. If things don’t work out we will be stay in an extended stay hotel until we find a place. The theater has been hectic as well but I know my family and I will make it through this.
Got a lot of the major stuff out of the house. Really not much left to move. If things do not work out I’ll be living in a hotel for awhile. Such a weird thing to see the house so empty. I still have my job and some of my stuff. The bare essentials
When we moved into the house we are still living in right now it was the year 2000. Even though I was only 7 at the time I can still remember it quite a bit. Our first night here we ate at the Burger King right by where my brother and I would go to middle school and high school. The first friend I made in Coon Rapids was Bo. We used to sit and play with wrestling toys, talk about Metallica etc. Coon Rapids Boulevard was not nearly as dead as it is now. One of our city’s only claims to fame was the fact that the former hockey rink, Cook Arena was used during the filming of one of the Mighty Ducks movies. My brother was still playing back then and we went to many of his games there. At the time, the trains were allowed to blow their horns even if there were no emergencies so we were kept up at night because of it. Where was I when 9/11 happened? I was at home getting ready to go to school when my dad came home from dropping my brother off at school with news he had heard on the radio. I remember my parents glued to the TV watching anything they could about it. Trying to comprehend the scope of what was going on at the time was a rough thing for an 8 year old to do. The next year my Grandma passed away. I didn’t know her real name until she was in the hospital. I always knew her as grandma Joann but her real first name Muriel. Joann was her middle name. Tragedy struck our family once again the year after that as my cousin Aaron died from complications of having cerebral palsy. It was around this time I started to volunteer with a bunch of kids at the local nursing home and at the school. I always dreamed about what it would be like to be in middle school or high school. It sounded so grown up, so cool. I then met a friend of mine who would be an on and off friend for years to come, Ryan. In the last part of elementary school and all throughout middle school I acted in 4 plays. The first being a lead role in “Beauty And The Beast” then I played Jafar in “Aladdin” after that I was King Ulsted and The Apothecary in “The Princess And The Pea.” My final role was that of Father Swan in “Honk.” At just the age of 12 I played my first concert at an amazing venue in Maple Grove that has since moved a few different times. I played in a couple bands here and there until now. Some of the bigger shows we played were mostly in Minneapolis and Hopkins. I could go into the hundreds of shows I saw but I absolutely love First Avenue, The Triple Rock, The Varsity, etc. It’s sad to see bands break up, musicians pass away or venues close down. Some awesome ones like Eclipse Records, The Segue Cafe, etc. have met their demises. Some cool memories include driving through the countryside and either seeing shows or playing shows in the middle of nowhere. Even if no one came or we were the only ones to show up to someone’s shows, they were always fun and interesting. The first girl I dated was Jenna, when I was 14. She lived in a small town near Buffalo, MN. Unfortunately that did not last. I then dated a girl named Breanna in my freshman year of high school that I met through a Minnesota Music Street Team. I asked her out in the middle of a Border’s in Maple Grove during the holiday season of 2007. Before I had a cell phone actually. Honestly that’s pretty much it throughout most of high school. There were people I liked but nothing ever became of them. If I did date anyone else it was not for long or nothing became of them. In my senior year I went to prom with my cello partner of 6 years, Malorie. We were not dating and purely went as friends. After failed attempts at dating 2 girls I liked I dated a girl named Ashley. We didn’t do much together and I soon found out she actually wanted to date a friend of mine who at one time was well liked by others. Not so much now. My first real girlfriend was Lizzy. I met her in 2012 through Ryan. The instant I saw her I fell in love. She was so amazing and that will always be a time in my life I will cherish. I had not kissed a girl in 5 years and soon we started to do sexual things together. Eventually after we started dating I lost my virginity to her on prom night and after seeing The English Beat together at the Cabooze. Unfortunately she had many problems in her life and left me on my birthday. 2 months after that I briefly dated a girl named Kaylee. In all honestly, she was a nice, sweet girl and had her warmth about her. We kissed but nothing else, went on a few dates here and there but we were both far too busy to keep dating. She then also came out as bisexual and also stopped talking to me. I’ve been single ever since. I volunteered for 4 years in a row at the Anoka Haunted House. Lots of crazy memories there. I was a monster every year and the last 2 years I got my first taste for a working environment by working concessions. I also had been volunteering at Feed My Starving Children. For a few years I also was in the Anoka Halloween Parade. Which was fun, until you ran out of candy then you were left to awkwardly wave at the crowd. My first job was at Spirit Halloween in 2011. It was a fun job and I helped to stay and close down the store and the Maple Grove store, which was the same building I had asked Bre out in back in 2007. Then I worked at Culver’s briefly. I hated the management there and quit soon afterwards. I had to shave everyday, even though my manager had a goatee. I was also not trained in. (Logic, what’s that?) When I was dating Lizzy I worked at Renaissance Fireworks in Brooklyn Park. It was supposed to be in Blaine but the city of Blaine ended up not allowing people to have fireworks stands there. That was the hardest I’ve worked in my life. Dealing with the most evil person I’ve ever met, being away from Lizzy everyday, working in the 100+ degrees weather, never really getting too busy. And then I found out that my co worker either stole money or stole products so I was not paid on time. She also never paid our helper his fair share of money. Life was pretty damn shitty at that time. After Renaissance I got a job at Sear’s Outlet in Coon Rapids. This was the case with a lot of people, but I had actually applied to the Sear’s store in Coon Rapids. But, a job is a job so I started working there and quickly learned all about appliances, beds, exercise machines, lawn mowers, etc. I also learned that people do NOT want to buy warranties or sign up for credit cards. And you know what I had to do with each sale? Try to sell both. Honestly I can’t believe I lasted so long there. My sales were horrible but then again we were very slow most of the time. I helped that place out a lot though. I moved so much shit there, and moved so much out of there. Since that location no longer sold TVs, I took down all of the signs that said so, and all of the antennas, etc. They got a new paint job after I left and even though people are probably still shitty about buying stuff. I can’t get too mad at them though. I got a lot stronger working there and saved up a couple thousand dollars. Plus professional sales never hurt anyone on a resume. Then in February, I was let go. Now I’ve been at the theater for 7 months. I’ve gotten a raise and absolutely love it there. So many awesome people, a chance for me to work in an industry I actually have interest in, thank God, and that is where I met Kellie. Eventually they would like for me to become a supervisor. Although with the way things are now that will have to wait. This job could not have been better (Unless they would have kept the arcade open haha) but with everything that’s been going on or will go on these next couple of days, weeks, months, I think about everything that I am truly blessed to have experienced. All in all, life is pretty damn sweet. I love you guys for following my blog. I just hit 800 followers while writing this. I’ve got plenty more ideas in store for the future of my “Tumblring”
Obviously there is a lot I didn’t talk about but you get a general idea for how life has been for me. As always if you want to know anything else, please feel free to ask.
I hope you guys have a great Holiday season!
As far as work goes it’s pretty much been 100% of the movies sold out, most noticeably Hunger Games and Frozen. Sucks that I didn’t get to see Enders Game. I want to see the Book Thief also. Got to work with Kellie and shared some smiles and laughs. She wished my family well and my dad a speedy recovery. Was going to visit her tonight but it was far too cold. It’s hard to tell what to expect as far as dating her as she does live far away and is only back for a month. I’d really like to at least see a movie with her. My thoughts go out to my friend Shabazz at the theater. His sister, who was missing for 20 years had her body found just the other day. In addition to that if you guys in Minnesota heard about the people that died in that crash in a river in Minnesota recently, that was some of his family. Life is rough on seemingly everyone now and I totally understand why he might quit his job or take some time off. My cousin Chad came over with some boxes and now my room is pretty much empty compared to before. So many things in boxes. My dad’s condition is getting better and better every day. His heart reacted when my mom rubbed his head. So in a way we did get to spend Thanksgiving together as a family. My mom, brother and I went to Denny’s for lunch and had a Hobbit themed meal. Good stuff. I had a drink tonight in honor of my dad. We were going to have a screwdriver together on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas but obviously he is still sedated and largely out of it. Tomorrow we’re going out to look for a place to live and get rid of things that need to be trashed or stored at someone else’s house temporarily. Still didn’t get to see my cousin’s son but I’m sure I will soon.
